Police Respond to Two House Breaks and Two Car Breaks in Newton

The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

On June 12, at 1:26 p.m., police responded to Elliot Street for a report of B&E at a home. The owner said she left home at 9:45 a.m. and returned at 1:05 p.m. and noticed the sliding door and another window in the TV room were smashed. Her backpack was dumped on the sofa and multiple rings and pairs of earrings were stolen. 

On June 12, at 12:25 a.m., police responded to Park Street for a past B&E to the residence. The owner said he left in the morning and returned to notice his bathroom window open and a black cloth suitcase and microphone case missing filled with recording equipment. Clothing was missing also. 

On June 11, police responded to the Chestnut Hill Mall for a report of vandalism to a motor vehicle. A woman said she parked her car at the back of the mall, and returned to find the front passenger window smashed in.
