The Newton Police Department has released a sketch of a man wanted in connection to a Tuesday morning robbery attempt in Newton Highlands.

According to police, the man entered Bruno's Auto Service on Winchester St., Tuesday morning at about 9:20. He walked up to the attendant and demanded money, but the attendant refused to comply.

Police say the suspect struck the attendant on the forehead with his fist and then fled the service station on foot, headed toward Needham Street.

No weapon was shown during the robbery attempt, police said, and the suspect is wanted on charges of attempted unarmed robbery.

The suspect is described as a 15- to 25-year-old white male with brown eyes and a slender build (125-150 pounds). He is also said to have an oval tattoo at his left elbow and possibly another tattoo on the inside of his arm.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Det. Glenn Harris in the Newton Police Detective Bureau at 617-796-2104.
