Newton Police: Unarmed Robbery Reported Near Boston College

The incident happened in the area of Commonwealth Avenue and College Road.

Newton Police responded to an area near Monday evening after a female reported she was robbed while walking near the school. 

According to reports, officers responded to the area near Commonwealth Avenue and College Road around 10:26 p.m. The victim told officers she was walking in that area and talking on her cell phone when a man came up from behind and pushed her to the ground. 

The suspect, who did not have a weapon, grabbed the victim's cell phone and ran off in an unknown direction, reports said.

The suspect was described as a white male with medium build and possibly dark clothing. The stolen cell phone was a Samsung brand phone with a pink case.

A number of police units canvassed the area, with negative results.
