Police arrested a man Monday afternoon after he allegedly hijacked several vehicles during a dramatic chase through Middlesex County that resembled something out of "Grand Theft Auto."

The chase ended at about 2 p.m. in Bedford on Spring Road when the suspect crashed a stolen Ford Flex into a utility pole. The crashed vehicle can be seen in the photo above.

The suspect was taken into custody at gunpoint and transported to Lahey Clinic in Burlington. The suspect reportedly suffered a gunshot wound, and the Flex had bullet holes in it, according to police radio communications.

A gun belonging to the suspect was recovered.

No police officers or bystanders were hurt, according to MyFoxBoston.com.

There were several reports of gunfire during the incident, which started at about 1 p.m. with a report of a stolen Acura on Lincoln Road in Newton. The suspect then led police through Billerica, Concord, Lincoln, and Bedford, carjacking several vehicles in the process.

At about 1:35 p.m., the suspect reportedly ditched the Acura in Billerica and carjacked a white Toyota Tundra. The Tundra was seen in Carlisle, according to reports. He drove as fast as 85 mph trying to evade chasing cruisers. The suspect then crashed that vehicle, jumped out with a gun, and hijacked a Ford Flex in Concord, according to reports.

The suspect then drove through Hanscom Air Force Base, crashing into gates.

The suspect was described as a "light-skinned black ... or hispanic male."
