UPDATE 11:53 a.m.: Dive Team to Search Reservoir for Missing Newton Man

The dive team will use cameras and other related equipment to search for the missing Boston College student.

[Update: The State Police dive boat went in at around 10 a.m., to investigate an object they had seen at about 8:30 a.m. The object turned out to be a dead bird. Police are now doing a perimeter scan of reservoir using a side sonar scanner, which takes pic of bottom of reservoir. If they see anything, will send in diver.

"We have no reason to believe he's in the reservoir, but that he's nowhere else." explained David Procopio Director of Media Communications for the State Police, "We sincerely hope they don't find him in the reservoir today."

A number of , friends and fellow students, as well as representatives from local media outlets are watching the search from the shore of the reservoir. 11:53 a.m.]

A State Police dive team will take to the water today in search for a student who has been missing since Wednesday. 

A State Police spokesman told Newton Patch this morning that the dive teams will be heading to the Chestnut Hill Reservoir today. The team will be equipped with cameras and other related search tools.

at Mary Ann's bar in Cleveland Circle. Since then, he has not attended classes at Boston College or arrived at work at a Waltham CVS. 

Mary Ann's, which is at 1937 Beacon St., Brighton, is located next to the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. 

State Police could not confirm what time the crews will be down at the reservoir today. 

Yesterday, State Police did a surface scan of the reservoir using a helicopter. However, the search turned up negative.
