Thieves Remove Wet Clothes from Washing Machine, Scatter on the Floor; Rabbit Shot With Arrow

The following are excerpts from the Newton police log. An arrest or charge does not indicate a conviction.

On June 15, a woman reported graffiti that had been painted on the side of her fence on Temple Street. 

On June 15, police responded to Wegmans for a report of past larceny. On June 12, at 1:47 p.m., a man came into the store and stole a 2006 Mouten Rothschild bottle of wine. The suspect was seen leaving the store and getting into a tan vehicle. The following day, a woman stole the same kind of wine. 

On June 14, police responded to 900 Block Boylston St. for a report of vandalism that had happened the day before. The back side of the property was defaced.

On June 14, police were dispatched to Rowena Road for a report of an injured rabbit with an arrow still lodged in it. The rabbit ran into some shrubs and dislodged the arrow from itself. 

On June 14, police responded to a B&E in progress on Middle Street. Loud noises were coming from the basement laundry room. When police arrived, they found no suspects inside. It appeared the thieves removed wet clothing from the washing machine and scattered them on the floor. The owner said the same thing had occurred this past Saturday.

On June 14, police responded to a call reported malicious damage to a motor vehicle on Whittier Road. Someone smashed the rear windshield when it was parked outside the residence.
