Friends and family of gathered outside Mary Ann's bar in Brighton yesterday to share information about the missing West Newton man.
Garcia, 21, was last seen at Mary Ann's in Cleveland Circle around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday.
Since then, Garcia has not attended classes or shown up for work. His car remains at , where he left it Tuesday.
Friends and family braved the cold outside the bar , holding signs and passing out fliers, speaking with passers-by and press.
"The outpouring of support has been amazing," said Rachele Reis, a BC student and one of Garcia's friends. "Yesterday, when we put the flyers up around BC campus and surrounding area, we had about 50 student volunteers just show up, going 'give me tape, give me flyers, let me do what I can.'"
While she spoke to Patch, a delivery car appeared with a donation of chicken wings from nearby restaurant Wings Express.
Yesterday, Newton Police Lt. Bruce Apotheker said Newton detectives requested a State Police helicopter do a surface scan of the Chestnut Hill Reservoir, which is near where Garcia was last seen. However, the State Police helicopter search turned up with negative results, he said.
Apotheker added that the investigation in Garcia's disappearance is ongoing.
To aid with the search, friends have also put together a Facebook group created about Garcia's disappearance, which has reached more than 2,000 members. Flyers are also posted around campus and all the way up Beacon Street into the Coolidge Corner area of Brookline.
Rachele Reis and Amelia Zani, two of his friends and classmates, are also asking anyone who may have taken photos at Mary Ann's Tuesday night -- regardless of whether they know if Garcia is in them -- is encouraged to send them to email@example.com. Photos will remain private unless Garcia is spotted.
