Watch Your Bicycles - They Have Been Disappearing From Newton Homes

Dozens of bikes have been stolen over the past month.

Newton has seen a rash of bicycle thefts this summer, and Newton Police remind residents to lock their garages and even lock up you bicycles.

Since July 20, there have been 17 bike thefts reported in all areas of the city, according to the Newton Police (See the map above). Most of the events occur during the daytime.

Most have been taken from unlocked garage doors, sometimes with doors left open.

Locking garage doors and, if possible, locking bicycles at home will help prevent thefts, police said.
