Confident Romney After Bay State Win: “This President Has Failed You”

Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney finished Super Tuesday strong, winning four states and leading in two more at by 12 a.m. Wednesday.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney finished Super Tuesday strong, winning four states, and leading in two more, including a neck-and-neck race with contender Rick Santorum in Ohio, where a recount seemed possible.

Speaking to a crowd of roughly 400 at the Tuesday evening, Romney congratulated his rivals Santorum and Newt Gingrich for their victories in the rest of the nation. He thanked Ron Paul for his “…steadfast commitment to our Constitution.”

Romney continued with comments on the economy, taking quick focus on President Barack Obama. “To the millions of Americans who look around and can only see jobs they can’t get and bills they can’t pay, I have a message: You have not failed.” He said to cheers. “This president has failed you.”

At a later point in his speech, three to five protesters toting signs that read “Veto Romney, not the Dream Act!” began to interrupt. They were escorted off stage to jeers from the crowd.

Romney ended his evening on a positive note: “Let’s go forward together and restore the promise of America! Together, let’s fight for the country we love.” He then embraced his family on stage before making rounds of the podium to shake hands.
