TO: Arlington Democrats and independents (unenrolled) taking a Democratic ballot: From: Charlie Shapiro, Democrat for Governor's Council. In most elections the Governor's Council race is overlooked. On the ballot it's simply called "Councillor". Many are not aware what it is, or what it means. In fact typically over 50% of voters just leave it blank. This year, however, you have a chance to improve this little known body which is the elected citizen voice into the Governor's choices for judges, parole board, and a whole host of other appointed positions. Please take a moment to visit www.voteshapiro.org and learn more. There's additional info on www.facebook.com/voteshapiro. Info and links to endorsements and more can be found at http://arlington.patch.com/blog_posts/shapiro-for-governors-councilor-the-right-choice-for-change (There's no Republican running so the Thursday vote in the primary is critical.) I would greatly appreciate your vote this Thursday and will work hard on your behalf if honored with the position. Thank you.
