Newton Mayor Discussing Challenges Facing Homeowners at Conference

Setti Warren joins seven other mayors who will meet with officials from Wells Fargo.

Mayor Setti Warren will represent Newton at a meeting of mayors with Wells Fargo representatives to discuss the challenges facing home owners.

Warren will be among eight mayors at the event organized by the U.S. Conference of Mayors, to be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22 at the Boston Newton Marriott.

Wells Fargo has also invited 6,500 local homeowners who are customers of Wells Fargo and Wachovia mortgage groups and who face financial hardships.

There will be home preservation workshops open to the homeowner from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Other mayors include Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy, Revere Mayor Daniel Rizzo, Beverly Mayor Bill Scanlon, Everett Mayor Carlo DeMaria, Fitchburg Mayor Lisa A. Wong, Weymouth Mayor Sue Kay and Hartford Mayor Pedro Segarra.
