Herb is an ordinary American running for Congress because four years ago he got fed up with Congress and decided to try and fix it. Herb is not a career politician, he is an engineer with more than 30 years experience solving problems in private industry.

Herb's first priority is fixing the economy: The best way to do that is with stimulus spending that is paid for by increasing taxes on the wealthiest 1% who have not been carrying their fair share for the last 20 years or so. Herb would do this with his Bottom Line Regulation proposal that increases taxes on incomes over one million dollars when the unemployment rate is high and brings rates back down as the economy improves. This allows for stimulus spending without permanently increasing the size of government when the economy improves. Herb also favors stimulating the economy by reducing capital gains taxes, but only on initial public offerings (IPO's) for American companies or to build American factories.  Herb opposes the 8 million person layoff (a.k.a. $1.2 trillion budget cut) the Tea Party is attempting to foist on working Americans. It almost looks like the Tea Party is intentionally trying to destroy the American economy -- Could it be they are willing to destroy the economy just to get that black man out of the White House? That would be shameful if it were true.

Our long term economic recovery will be heavily dependent on an "all hands on deck" conversion to new energy technology. Herb's technical background will enable him to evaluate energy technology without having to depend on experts who are, or hope to be, employed by the corporations being regulated.  This means Herb can avoid wasting government money, but it also means Herb can evaluate the safety of energy technologies. Herb will make these literally life and death decisions in favor of the health and safety of your children, grandchildren and their children's grandchildren. For example, Herb has a proven track record of opposing nuclear energy when it wasn't so fashionable -- that is, before Fukushima Daiichi proved that the current nuclear technology is unstable and inherently dangerous. Some of our legislators have become deluded into thinking they can legislate the laws of physics. Herb knows better.

Herb extends his support to all the remaining Democrats in the Senate race. Herb says, "I campaigned with all seven candidates who ran for Senate and all of them are capable of doing a better job than Scott Brown."
