Postponed: Sunday's Town Hall Meeting on Newton Override

Due to the expected snow storm, the mayor has postponed Sunday's town hall meeting on the override.

This Sunday's town hall meeting on the proposed override has been postponed due to the expected snow storm, according to a memo from the mayor's office.

The meeting, which was scheduled to be held at the Lower Falls Community Center, has been moved to Sunday, March 3 at 6 p.m. The rescheduled meeting will also be held at the Lower Falls Community Center.

Newton voters will head to the polls on March 12 to vote on the three override questions, which include an $8.4 million operating override as well as two debt exclusion overrides for the rebuilding of Angier and Cabot elementary schools. The overall override package totals $11.4 million.

In addition to the Lower Falls Community Center meeting, other upcoming override town hall meetings include:

  • Sunday, March 3, 1 p.m. at Ward Elementary
  • Thursday, March 7, 7 p.m. at Mason Rice Elementary
  • Sunday, March 10, 1 p.m. at Oak Hill Middle
