Newton Chosen for Medicinal Pot Dispensary
The state's Department of Public Health announced Friday morning the 20 applicants that will be receiving medicinal marijuana licenses to operate in Massachusetts.
The Department of Public Health announced Friday morning the 20 applicants that will be awarded medicinal marijuana licenses to operate in Massachusetts, including Garden Remedies, Inc., in Newton.
Dispensaries will be located in Mashpee, Dennis, Taunton, Fairhaven, Salem, Haverhill, Holyoke, Northampton, Lowell, Ayer, Newton, Cambridge, Brookline, Quincy, Plymouth, Brockton, Boston, Milford and Worcester, according to the announcement.
More than 100 groups applied for licenses to open medical pot shops around the state. The licenses were awarded by county.
