West Nile Virus Risk Raised in Newton

Massachusetts public health officials have raised the risk level for West Nile Virus in Newton from low to moderate, according to the Boston Globe.

The news comes after mosquitoes in Newton recently tested positive for WNV, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.

The risk level was also raised to moderate in Watertown, Waltham and Cambridge due to “similarities in mosquito habitat types,” according to the Globe.
