Pets ,Canines and police work

   While doing research for a project I’ve worked on for many years ,I sometimes find articles concerning the city of Newton. 

   the Cops call them Canines, to animal lovers they are pets, by whatever name they are referred to, they have had a long and great history serving police departments.  I attached a short story which appeared in the June 23, 1881 issue of the Newton Journal newspaper.
