The Newton community came together Monday night to discuss two recent suicides by high school students, and some expressed their frustration with the situation.
In less than two weeks, a Newton South sophomore and a Newton North senior took their lives. Newton Superintendent David Fleishman said the community needs time to process the loss of two "terrific kids," but parents said they are frustrated by the situation.
One parent said while there is talk about anti-bullying there are still a lot of problems with depression in the Newton schools and another said people are carrying around the suicides with them, according to a report by NECN. A student said he did not think the issue was being addressed directly.
