Concerns, Questions Raised by Parents in Wake of Child Porn Case

Several Newton parents have brought up concerns about complaints filed about former Newton teacher David Ettlinger, who is facing federal child porn charges.

A number of Newton parents have recently questioned the Newton Public Schools' response to complaints filed against former elementary school teacher David Ettlinger, who is facing state and federal child pornography charges. 

The Boston Globe reported this morning that a number of complaints were filed about Ettlinger's behavior at , including an instance where he reportedly kicked a student and another where he let a child sit on his lap during a field trip.

Superintendent David Fleishman told the Globe that none of the complaints were sexual in nature and that all complaints were investigated and resolved.

Some parents noted these complaints during  following Ettlinger's arrest, and parents are asking the district to investigate further into Ettlinger's actions and behavior while he was working in Newton.

Ettlinger, who was , is tied to his participation in a global child pornography site. He also faces multiple charges here in Massachusetts . 

None of Ettlinger's alleged victims were students, authorities say.
