See Which Newton High School Made the Top 15 in Mass. on the SATs

The Boston Globe compiled a list of the top 15 schools in the state.

The College Board has released its annual survey of average SAT scores and Newton South made the top 15 in the Massachusetts.

Boston.com has a slideshow with the top 15 schools and Newton South came in fifth with a mean score of 1,849, ahead of Wellesley and Brookline, which also made the top 15. Newton North did not make the top 15.

Topping the list? The Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science, a magnet school in Worcester. It's the Worcester version of Boston Latin, which ranked number four on the annual list. The academy had a mean score of 2042, which is about a 1400 on the old SAT scoring system that you remember from high school.

Other top-performing schools include the Advanced Math Science Charter Acton-Boxborough Regional High School (third) and Lexington (second). Check out the full slideshow at boston.com.
