The Newton Centre green had a distinctively blue hue Thursday morning.
The Newton SouthEast Little League team is on its way to Bristol, Conn., where the "Comeback Kids" will go to bat in hopes of winning the New England regional crown for Massachusetts.
Friends, fans, Newton Mayor Setti Warren, Little League officials and, of course, the team itself enjoyed a send-off and good luck celebration at Newton Centre Thursday.
Warren told the team that Boston, with its Red Sox, John Farrell and Fenway Park, had nothing on the Garden City's Newton SouthEast, Manager John Taft and Richardson Field.
The boys will play their first game Saturday, and will play NESN televised games next week.
