Boston College Names New Football Coach

The incoming coach will replace Frank Spaziani, who was recently fired.

With a hope of bringing the Boston College football program back to life, BC Athletics has hired Temple University's Steve Addazio as the new Eagles football coach

According to a story posted yesterday on the Sports Illustrated website, Addazio went 13-11 in his two seasons as coach at Temple and won national titles as offensive line coach while at Florida.

Addazio has strong ties in the Northeast, SI reported, and is known as one of the biggest recruiters in the region.

BC Athletic Director Brad Bates, who was just hired in October, has brought Addazio on board to replace former coach Frank Spaziani.

Spaziani was fired at the end of this season after four years with BC football, each of which was progressively worse, SI reported. Spaziani finished the most recent season 2-10, with his overall record at BC at 21-29.
