Government Shutdown Would Cancel Boston College's Football Game

The Cadets from Army may not be able to travel to Chestnut Hill for the game.

Boston College's game on Saturday will be cancelled unless the government shutdown ends before then.

The Eagles are scheduled to host Army, but the Department of Defense announced Tuesday that all intercollegiate games for the three military academies will be cancelled during the shutdown, Politico.com reported

The U.S. Military Academy, along with Navy and Air Force, have cancelled all practices for intercollegiate athletics teams, and the teams may be placed on travel restrictions due to the shutdown of the U.S. government, according to a report from SBNation's BCInteruption.com.

The game is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday at Alumni Stadium. Also impacted by the travel ban would be Saturday's Navy-Air Force game. BCInterruption reports that the only weekend when two teams are available to make up the game would be Dec. 7, the weekend of the ACC Championship Game.
