Newton American Legion Baseball Kicks off 2012 Season

The baseball team is currently 2-1 this summer.

With spring sports finished and school out for the summer, the local American Legion baseball teams have hit the field. 

This year's Newton Post 440 team started its season on Tues., June 12 with a win against Lexington Post 38. Since then, the local team has also had a victory against Weston and a loss against Natick for a 2-1 overall standing. 

Post 440 is currently ranked second in Zone 5A and ranked second overall in the district (District 5).

The team's next game will take place Sun., June 17 against Watertown Post 99. The game will take place at Victory Field (Orchard Street) in Watertown at 8 p.m.
