Newton Baseball Team on its Way to Babe Ruth World Series

The Babe Ruth 14-year old division from Newton won the title of New England Champions today.

A group of baseball stars from Newton will soon be on their way to Virginia. 

Newton's Babe Ruth 14-year old division baseball team won the title of New England Champions today during the finals in Westfield, MA. The team will now head to the Babe Ruth World Series in Glen Allen, Virginia. 

The Newton team, who are the Eastern Mass. Champions, played two games in the finals today. Although they lost the first game 6-0, Newton just needed one win for the title, and they took it with a 9-3 victory over Cranston, RI.

Over the weekend, the local boys beat the Western Mass. Champions from Pittsfield in a semi-final game of the double-elimination New England Regional Tournament. . 

The team will play its first game in the Babe Ruth World Series on August 20.
