Newton's Girls Volleyball Teams Make the Tourney
See where Newton North and Newton South would up in the bracket.
Both Newton North and Newton South have teams in the Div. 1 Central/East Section Tournament.
The Tigers landed the fourth seed with a record of 16-3. The teams ahead of them are No. 1 Brookline, No. 2 North Qunicy and No. 3 King Phillips.
On Monday at 7 p.m., Newton North takes on the winner of the Boston Latin-Somerville match.
The Lions (9-8) got the 11th seed in the tournament. Newton South will travel to face No. 6 Latin Academy in Boston on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The teams are on opposite sides of the bracket, so they would not meet until the section final.
