See How Newton's Football Squads Fared on Friday

Newton South took on powerful Lincoln-Sudbury while Newton North traveled to Needham.

Newton's high school football teams had a tough week, as both squads fell in road games.

Host Needham kept Newton North off the scoreboard until the fourth quarter in a lopsided game. A 23-yard touchdown reception by Jack Boucher from Christian Cox got the Tigers on the board, according to the Boston Globe report. Matt Mackenzie's 6-yard touchdown run wrapped up the scoring for Newton North in the 41-12 loss.

Lincoln-Sudbury led 13-0 at halftime and scored another 12 in the third quarter before Newton South got on the scoreboard. Ethan Myer scored on a 33-yard run on the Lion's only score in the 32-7 loss, according to the Boston Globe report.

Next week, Newton South travels to Acton-Boxborough for a 7 p.m game on Friday, while Newton North hosts Braintree on Saturday at 3 p.m.
