See Which Newton Soccer Teams Made the State Tournament
Two teams made the soccer state tournament and start playing this weekend.
The Newton North girls soccer team and Newton South boys squad will play in the post season this year.
The NNHS girls earned the second seed in the MIAA Div. 1 North Section tournament, after finishing an undefeated regular season (14-0-2). The Tigers host either Chelmsford or Andover on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. in a quarterfinal game.
Newton South's girls team got the 10th seed in the MIAA Div. 1 South tournament after finishing with a 11-6-1 record. The Lions travel to face Silver Lake Regional on Sunday at 4 p.m. in a first round match.
