Whiz Kid: Newton Teen Takes the Field in the Big Leagues

Newton's Adrian Reifsnyder will be playing at Gillette Stadium next week with soccer team New England Revolution for their first scrimmage of the year.

Age:  17

Accomplishment:  Newton's Adrian Reifsnyder has traveled all over the world to play soccer and is currently playing with New England Revolution's Under 18 Youth Team, a Major League Soccer team.  

Key to Awesomeness: Adrian Reifsnyder has been playing soccer since he was 3-years old.  Until the age of 10, Adrian played soccer through the city of Newton and played club soccer after that.

The sport has given Adrian many new experiences and opportunities to travel.

 "Soccer's been able to take me all over the country, and also internationally," says Adrian.  

Before playing with the Revolution, Adrian traveled to Portugal, Germany and Italy to play soccer.  With the Revolution, Adrian has traveled to Phoenix, Los Angeles and Florida.  

The Revolution's first scrimmage of the season is Saturday, February 26 at Gilette Stadium.  The season begins on March 5.  In the 2009-2010 season, Adrian made 27 appearances with the Revolution's Under 16 team.  

In addition to playing soccer, Adrian has studied violin at the New England Conservatory and also plays guitar.
