Halloween Event, Business Excellence Awards and Gala Are Planned This Week

Get Into the Halloween Spirit

Newton Community Farm, 303 Nahanton St., will host Halloween on the Farm at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25.

There will be traditional crafts, games, songs and stories.

The cost is $5 per family (two children preschool - 3rd grade plus one adult). The cost for each additional person is $2.50.

Business Excellence Awards

The Newton EDC Business Excellence Awards will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 at the War Memorial, Newton City Hall.

The event will celebrate businesses, individuals and organizations who have contributed to the vitality of Newton’s village centers, advanced business attraction and improved the overall economic health of the city.

Night by the River Gala and Auction

The West Suburban YMCA will have A Night by the River Gala and Auction from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Harry Parker Boathouse, 100 Nanantum Road, Watertown.

The event will include cocktails, a gourmet dinner, silent and live auctions and keynote speaker Joe Andruzzi, former New England Patriot.

Channing School of London Concert

The Girls Choir and Orchestra at Channing School of London will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22 at the First Unitarian Society of Newton, 1326 Washington St.

The girls will perform Britten, Bach and Taverner.

Free Flu Clinic

A free flu clinic will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the Newton Senior Center.

All Newton residents 18 and over are welcome. There is no charge, but please bring your health insurance and Medicare cards.
