Holiday Lighting, Flu Clinic, Board of Aldermen Meets

A few things going on in Newton this week.

Holiday Lighting at Newton City Hall

The Newton Holiday Lighting Ceremony will be held Thursday at 4 p.m. at City Hall. Bring your family and join in the free community sing-along for kids and families led by the award-winning Stacey Peasley Band. Community Flu Clinic

The City of Newton Health and Human Services Department will be having a community flu clinic on Wednesday from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Flu vaccinations will be available for ages 6 months and up. Please visit our website at www.newtonma.gov/flu for more information.

Board of Aldermen Meets

The Board of Aldermen meet on Monday night at 7:45 p.m. in City Hall. The docket includes items on the Angier and Cabot school projects and funds to design the Fire Station 3 and Fire Headquarters projects. See the whole docket here.

Latkes and Light

Come and enjoy a Hanukkah supper with fellow participants and alumni at Hebrew College on Wednesday at from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Then discover and discuss the deeper meaning of Hanukkah with PTJL instructors, while your children play and engage in Hanukkah-related activities. Find out more here.

Art Opening at the Newton Library

The public is welcome to attend the opening reception for Heejung Kim's Gallery show titled Rest, Relax and Flow at the Newton Free Library on Thursday at 7 p.m. In her recent paintings Ms. Kim seeks to make new discoveries about things that have always existed around her. Refreshments will be served.
