Celebrating the Music of Sammy Cahn

In celebration of the centennial year of the Oscar-winning song lyricist Sammy Cahn (1913-1993), Roger Lee Hall will give a talk on the history of Cahn's music at the Newton Free Library on Monday at 7:30 p.m. Hall is founder of American Music Preservation, one of the largest informational online sites devoted to the preservation of American music from the past. Joining him in song will be the specacular vocals of Ben Sears, Brad Conner,  Cynthia Mork and Valerie Anastasio.

Journalist Ari Shavit to Discuss Book on Israel

Journalist Ari Shavit will discuss his book My Promised Land: TheTriumph and Tragedy of Israel at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center, 333 Nahanton St. in Newton, on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Find out more here.

Waban Area Council Meeting

The Waban Area Council will hold its regularly scheduled monthly meeting Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Waban Library Center. The meeting is open to the public, everyone is welcome. See more info here.

Kindermusik Jingle Jangle Playdate

Kindermusik Jingle Jangle playdates are coming to the Suzuki School of Newton on Thursday at 4:45 p.m These classes are adult-child interactive and are for newborns - age 5. Click here for more info.

A Taste of Shabbat

Join Eim Chai for a Shabbaton in Newton Centre on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
The featured speaker, Lori Palatnik is the Founding Director of The Jewish Women's Renaissance Project and a world renowned inspirational speaker, and there will be a shabbat dinner. See more here.
