Howie Carr Visits, Girls Soccer Tourney Game, Seafood Fest

See what is on tap this weekend in Newton.

1. Howie Carr, the author of two New York Times best-sellers, "The 
Brothers Bulger" and "Hitman," Boston Herald columnist and legendary Boston talk radio host, will be signing copies of his latest books and regaling the 
audience with tales from his political and crime writing exploits on Sunday, 
from 6 to 8 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 295 California St. See more info here

2. The Newton North girls' soccer team hosts a State Tourney game at on Sunday at 1 p.m.

3. The Walnut Street Whole Foods his hosting Seafood Fest Saturday beginning at noon. See demonstrations of filleting, preparing and cooking seafood.

4. Newton residents are invited to enjoy free admission to the at the Jackson Homestead and Museum (527 Washington Street, Newton) this weekend. 

5. Frances West, who heads an IBM team designing new technologies to aid the disabled, will discuss what we may expect in the future to improve the lives of our parents and perhaps even ourselves on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. at Second Church in Newton, 60 Highland St., West Newton.
