Jingle Bell Run/Walk, Chanukah Family Festival, Jazz Singers
Find out what's going on in Newton this weekend.
1. Jingle Bell Run/Walk is a fun and festive way to kick off your holidays by helping others by raising money for the Arthritis Foundation. The 5K fun run and walk will take place Sunday at 9 a.m. at the Fessenden School. There will be a costume contest and a kids Santa Dash. Find out more here.
2. The Mall at Chestnut Hill will host a Chanukah Family Festival on Sunday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Watch Daisy the Clown build a Menorah out of Balloons, enjoy live music, enjoy Chanukah treats including latkes, chocolate coins, doughnuts, and take part in Chanukah-themed crafts and activities
3. The Boston Jazz Voices perform Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Newton Free Library. Their repertoire comes from The Great American Songbook and innovative jazz arrangements of hits from recent decades.
4. Stop by and meet the staff at My Gym on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The Open House features for games, music, puppets, gymnastics and more. Click here for more details.
5. Pete the Cat fans can stop by the Newton Free Library on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Read your favorite Pete the Cat stories and enjoy several do-it-yourself activities featuring this fun character.
