Scandinavian Holiday Fair, Chabad Gala, Author Talk

Here are some things going on in Newton this weekend.

1. Enjoy baked goods, raffle, handmade items, jewelry, white elephant table, Scandinavian gifts, food and more at the Scandinavian Holiday Fair on Saturday at 10 a.m. See more information here.

2. Chabad at Chestnut Hill, Camp Gan Israel at Chestnut Hill, and Jewish Business Network at Chestnut Hill celebrate their 13th anniversary with a gala dinner and evening of entertainment on Saturday at 7 p.m. Get more information here.

3. Four local authors will discuss their new books and talk about the creative writing process at the Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center, 333 Nahanton St. in Newton on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. See who will speak by clicking here.

4. Bring a pie - homemade or store-bought pies (fully baked, no nuts!) and gently-used or new men’s ties to Temple Shalom on Sunday for the Pie and Tie Drive. Pies will be delivered to Little Brothers - Friends of the Elderly and ties will be donated to Year Up to help urban young men dress for work and school. Click here for more info.

5. The Red Cross will hold a blood drive with the Brotherhood of Temple Shalom on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. Find out more here.
