Tax-Free Weekend
It seems only right that shopping make the Weekend Agenda when the the weekend happens to be tax-free. Remember, clothes aren't taxed in Massachusetts anyway, but Aug. 10-11 could be a great time to pick up a new television. Just keep these "tax-free weekend guidelines" in mind.

Beat@The Street
The Street in Chestnut Hill will host events each weekend through late September. This weekend, Kid-Friendly Fun, including face-painting and balloon animals will be on the pedestrian walkway between Lululemon and Pinkberry Saturday, from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.; a trombone quartet, Bone-ified, will play from 5 pm.-7 p.m. Saturday in the green next to Shake Shack; and Lululemon instructors will host a free yoga class Sunday, from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. on the green. Last, but not least, a flute, Liz and Friends, will be outside Star Market from 1 p.m.-3 p.m., Sunday.

Wine and Beer Tasting at Walnut Market
Stop by Walnut Market Friday, Aug. 9 from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. to sample the store's new wine and beer offerings.

Historic Newton Walk: 
"Great Old Trees of Farlow Hill."
The walk takes place Sunday, Aug. 11 at 2 p.m. Local tree experts will recount the stories of the area through the trees that grew over the events as they unfolded. Meet at the Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds (at the copper beech on the corner of Waverley Avenue and Kenrick Street)

Sneak Peek Saturday at the Durant-Kenrick House and Grounds
This is your chance to peek inside the restoration efforts at the house and grounds -- for free. The museum is open from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10.

2013 Perseid Meteor Shower Peaks
The 2013 Perseid Meteor Shower has been going on for some time time, but the peak of activity is expected on Aug. 11 and 12. You could see as many as 60 "shooting stars" an hour those nights.
