Meet Robert Goris-Kolb, Pharmacy Manager for Wegmans Chestnut Hill

Did you know the new Wegmans in Chestnut Hill will have a full-service pharmacy? Offering such services as health and wellness consultations, auto-refill, immunizations and competitively low prices on select generic prescriptions, the Wegmans pharmacy can be your go-to place to help keep you healthy this year and beyond.

I’d like to introduce you to my friend Robert Goris-Kolb, PharmD, MBA, who is the manager of the new Wegmans Chestnut Hill pharmacy. Here’s what Robert has to say about the Wegmans pharmacy and what you can do to keep up a healthy lifestyle:

“At Wegmans, our pharmacists do much more than dispense medications. We provide incredible customer service every day, and will always take the time to help our patients understand their prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.

One principle we encourage people to follow in an effort to stay healthy is part of the Wegmans Eat Well Live Well philosophy: “Strive for Five.”  Strive for Five means to set a goal of consuming five cups of fruits and vegetables each day. Studies agree that more is better when it comes to eating a variety of produce for a healthier heart, better blood pressure, eye health, and improved digestion. Our wellness pharmacists will tell you that increasing fruit and vegetable intake can even lower blood pressure by 8-14 points!

Half-Plate Healthy is another Wegmans concept that I love because it helps you reach your daily strive-for-five goal for fruits and veggies, estimate portions, and keep calories in check. Just fill half your plate with veggies, fruit and salad, and fill the other half with anything else (i.e. poultry, meat, fish, pasta, even a slice of pizza) to make a well-balanced meal.

In addition to increasing fruits and veggies in your diet, you can utilize Wegmans’ “Wellness Keyswhile shopping at our store to identify foods that fit your personal nutrition plan or special dietary needs. These easy-to-recognize “dots” are found on Wegmans products only and on Wegmans recipes available on our web site or app, and include such designations as gluten free (GF), vegan (V), low sodium (LS), and many more.

My team of expert pharmacists and I are looking forward to helping the people of Greater Boston live healthier, better lives, and giving them a new, exciting choice for their pharmacy business!”

Wegmans Chestnut Hill is slated to open this spring. For more information on Wegmans, visit www.wegmans.com or for information on hiring, visit www.wegmans.com/careers. Until next time, eat well and live well!
