Swirling is by no means a technical term, but it is a great way to describe when we take a thought, usually bothersome, and just let it go around and around in our heads without letting go or moving forward. Sound familiar? Swirling rarely leads to solution and often builds strength like a destructive tornado. The best way to stop the cycle is to simply recognize when you are doing it. Once you recognize it, you can more easily gain control of the thought, get some clarity, and begin to move forward.
