This is the most fantastic school. My children have very different personalities and they are extremely happy there and LOVE going to school. They have also both learned so much and I feel my oldest is now extremely well prepared to face her first year in elementary school. The teachers are the best!

As a Sister of St. Joseph I am proud of the inclusivity and diversity that exists among our students, parents and teachers and permeates our hallowed ministry. Indeed we are a multicultural teacher and student body. Peace Education is not only taught but caught as all of us develop a deep respect and sensitivity to all life.

After choosing my husband, choosing Walnut Park is the BEST decision I have ever made. My son is thriving! As an only child, my husband and I were conscious about finding a place that would encourage social skills with children of all ages and, of course, inspire our child to want to learn. On DAY ONE of the school year, without my reminding people who I or my son was, the teachers (and other school faculty) literally welcomed us with great warmth...and statements such as "We are so excited to have Luke here with us!" We feel so fortunate to have such special, caring, talented and psychologically minded teachers with our son all day. In addition to our son development beautifully in many areas, the teachers and staff at Walnut Park have allowed me to go back to work fulltime WITHOUT worrying about Luke's day and whether or not he is happy. We learn every night how happy Luke is at school with all of his friends! I wish I could have attended Walnut Park myself years ago. My husband and I cannot say enough positive things about our son's pre-school experience!

Sending our daughters to Walnut Park is one of the best decisions we have made as parents. WPM offers a rich montessori education, coupled with a warm and caring environment. The facility, a beautiful carriage house, is also fastidiously maintained. Our daughters have grown to be confident, kind, courageous, and excited to learn--all attributes we largely credit to their experience at WPM.

We absolutely love Walnut Park Montessori. It is a community in every sense of the word. The children have a strong sense of self and are aware of the world around them -- in large part from the warm and diverse faculty. The best testament is how excited our son is to go to school every day. Learning at Walnut Park is as it should be -- fun, fun, fun. The students are allowed to follow their curiosity whether its pin punching the globe, racing to 100 with a classmate or learning to tie their shoes in the every day living center. There is no question that our son is prepared for first grade and he hasn't even entered kindergarten yet! He can do simple addition and he's starting to read but more importantly he is constantly asking questions about the world around him. The other day he asked what we as a family do to help others and if we do enough! I'm proud to say that's a Walnut Park kid who at 5 is primed to be a thoughtful and active participant in our community.

Walnut Park Montessori School is truly a gem. The diverse student body reflects the diversity of the faculty, and of the world we live in today. Students come from families with many different religious, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, as does the exceptional faculty, and contribute to the children's education with very welcome opportunities to share their first hand experiences in the classrooms. Examples begin with sharing apples dipped in honey for a 'sweet New Year' for Rosh Hashanah in Sept. Mexican 'Day of the Dead' mask making and Eid in Oct/Nov. Christmas, Channukah, and Kwanza, in Dec/Jan. The Indian Fesival of Color, Holi, and St. Patrick's Day in March. Easter in April. And so on. It is such a rich, caring, open environment within which children thrive.
