In the hours before the Boston Marathon, cyclists recreate the route from Hopkinton, through Newton, into Boston.

More than 130 Newton residents were registered to run yesterday.
Finishing any marathon is certainly a feat. But finishing a marathon in 90-degree weather is a whole different story. Congratulations to the numerous Newton residents who ran yesterday's 116th Boston Marathon. More than 130 were signed up to participate and many of those runners managed to cross the finish line despite the difficult and unhealthy weather conditions. We tracked some runner progress along the way, but below is a list of the Garden City's top 10 male and female finishers. For a full photo gallery of runners heading through Newton, check out this story here. After 26.2 grueling miles came, finally, the finish line.
The finish line. Whether getting there at all or getting there in your personal best time was your goal, it is sweet to cross it. For spectators, it's also sweet to see all that hard work, determination and pain pay off for the women and men who crossed it. Here are some of the photos we snapped at the finish line. Please add yours!
