Newton South Girls Tennis Sweeps Doubles But Drops Match

The Lions lost 3-2 to host Lincoln-Sudbury on Wednesday.

A complete sweep in doubles was not enough for Newton South girls tennis on Wednesday. Dropping all three singles matches, the Lions lost 3-2 to DCL (Large) rivals Lincoln-Sudbury. “We have new people at new positions and we know L-S is one of the top teams in the state,” said South coach Bob Jampol. “The fact that we were right there in the end is a good sign. The girls struggle knowing when to be aggressive and knowing when to play it safe, but they found a good mix between the two today.” The win improves L-S's record to 2-1 overall, while dropping Newton South's to 1-2.
