Green D Line Back to Full Service

The line was partially down Tuesday after a tree took out one of the poles in Newton.

After shuttle buses transported T passengers through much of Newton yesterday, the MBTA's Green D Line is back to full service. According to a Tweet sent this morning around 9:30 a.m., the MBTA GM confirmed that normal trolley service had resumed.  Governor Deval Patrick also noted the service restoration during a post-storm press conference this morning.  Shuttle buses replaced D Line trains all day yesterday while crews worked to repair a broken pole between the Eliot and Waban stops. MBTA: D Line Service Trouble May be Due to Faulty Equipment

With a number of recent breakdowns and service trouble, the MBTA says they have personnel working "around the clock to prevent failures."

The problems, Pesaturo says, could be due to new equipment recently installed on the line.  "After the most recent disruption, [workers] concluded that the failures have occurred …

I got off the #59 bus (that arrived at my stop 20 minutes late) and was greeted by a few T workers advising us where to get the shuttle bus that would be along shortly to take us to Reservoir. After a while a HUGE articulating bus arrived …   more ›
