State prosecutors in Middlesex and Suffolk counties announced today they have terminated the case against a former Newton elementary school teacher charged with child porn and idecent assault. The Associated Press is reporting Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick is considering signing legislation that would require teachers and workers at child care centers as well as school bus drivers to submit fingerprints for criminal background checks. According to an earlier report on YourTown Newton, federal court documents indicated Ettlinger's sentencing was pushed back to today, January 8, from its initial date in November.
