Turocy to Lead Newton Public Works Department
Turocy has been the interim commissioner for the DPW since January.
Newton Mayor Setti Warren announced last week that Interim DPW Commissioner David Turocy has officially been named commissioner of the department. Turocy has acted as interim commissioner since January, at which time former Commissioner Tom Daley resigned. “David brings a unique level of skills and experience to the position of Commissioner,” Warren said in a press release. “He was instrumental in implementing our zero-based budgeting approach in a critical department and has a clear vision for the future of these vital services.” Prior to Turocy's appointment as interim commissioner in January, he worked as deputy commissioner for the department and and served as the DPW's liaison to the Newton North construction project.
