Bielat, Kennedy Spar in Brief Television Debate

The 15-minute debate aired on Fox25 Morning News earlier today.

Although they had just a few minutes to make their case, Fourth Congressional District candidates Joe Kennedy III and Sean Bielat touted their experience and ideas in a Fox25 debate earlier this morning.  The live debate, which was moderated by Fox25 news host Gene Levanchy, lasted less than 15 minutes. This was the final scheduled television appearance for Bielat and Kennedy before the Nov. 6 general election.  Bielat, a Norfolk Republican, is running against Kennedy, a Brookline Democrat, to replace the retiring Fourth District Congressman Barney Frank, of Newton. Kennedy, Bielat Debate Jobs and Healthcare at Wellesley College Candidates Forum

The MA 4th Congressional District candidates took questions from the audience at their third debate at Wellesley College Oct. 15.

With healthcare and the economy serving as key topics, the two candidates vying for the Massachusetts Fourth Congressional District seat agreed to disagree often at last night’s debate at Wellesley College. Republican Sean Bielat and Democrat Joseph P. Kennedy III debated in front of a capacity crowd at Wellesley College’s Alumnae Hall, with both candidates sticking closely to the scripts of their respective parties. The debate, the candidates’ third, began with a disagreement on how Bielat and Kennedy would go about reducing the national deficit by $1.2 trillion over the next 10 years. Candidates for the Massachusetts Fourth Congressional District seat will participate in their third debate tonight.

The race for the Massachusetts Fourth Congressional District seat will take another step forward tonight as the candidates take part in a debate at Wellesley College. Democrat Joe Kennedy III and Republican Sean Bielat will participate in the Massachusetts Fourth Congressional District debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters and Wellesley College. This is the third debate between the candidates, who seek to replace longtime Democratic Congressman Barney Frank. In their second debate Wednesday, Fourth Congressional District candidates Sean Bielat and Joe Kennedy III took center stage in front of a packed room at UMass Dartmouth’s Advanced Technology and Manufacturing Center in Fall River to discuss the "American Dream." Bielat (R-Norfolk) and Kennedy (D-Brookline) sparred on issues related to the "American Dream," including jobs, the economy, education and health care. The debate was sponsored by MassINC, publisher of Commonwealth Magazine and moderated by Michael Goodman, the chair of the public policy department at UMass Dartmouth.
