Online, Social Media Efforts Stay Strong for Missing BC Student

More than three weeks have passed since the 21-year-old was last seen in Cleveland Circle.

While police continue to investigate the disappearance of Franco Garcia, friends and family are maintaining search and outreach efforts online and through social media. Earlier this week, a website was started to compile information about the missing Boston College student. Findfranco.org includes photos and resources for those looking to help in the search as well as a section where people can submit tips. Those who visit the site can also find copies of "Find Franco" flyers to distribute as well as a link to donate to the Find Franco search fund, which has raised $7,000. Friends, Family of Missing BC Student: "There is Still Hope"

Local businesses from across the region have donated services for the search of missing Boston College student Franco Garcia and Garcia's friends have traveled to New York to try to get exposure on the Today Show.

Two weeks after Boston College student Franco Garcia went missing, family and friends refuse to give up the search. "The message is that there is still hope," says Jennifer Bailey, who has recently joined the "Find Franco" efforts. Over the last two weeks, countless volunteers from all over the area have come out to show support for the Garcia family by hanging flyers, posting information online, contacting media outlets and reaching out to local businesses. According to Bailey, 15 local businesses have donated their services to the search for Garcia, with more donations likely on the way. Family, Friends of Missing BC Student Keep Search Alive

The friends and family of Franco Garcia held a walk yesterday in the Cleveland Circle area, hoping to keep information about Garcia's disappearance in the public eye.

A week and a half after Franco Garcia was last seen in Cleveland Circle, friends and family of the missing Boston College student are working to keep search efforts alive.  "We need to stay in people's minds," family friend Rocio Normand told Newton Patch. Garcia's family and friends flooded Cleveland Circle Sunday with posters, flyers and balloons. The group stood on the corner talking to pedestrians, waving to drivers and placing flyers on windshields of parked cars.  The group also spent the morning on a "Walk for Franco," traveling from the Chestnut Hill Reservoir to Mary Ann's bar and back. Police Finish Reservoir Search for Missing Boston College Student; Family Presses On

State Police have scoured the Chestnut Hill area for Franco Garcia, but have not found any clues.

Two Massachusetts State Police boats hit the water today at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir looking for any clues related to missing Boston College student Franco Garcia.  After four days of searching the water and surrounding area, police say they still have not found any clues related to Garcia's disappearance. According to State Police Spokesman David Procopio, today is the last day State Police crews search the reservoir. After today, Procopio said police will be following a couple of leads in the investigation. He could not give specific details on those leads, but that they are "traditional investigative leads." Missing BC Student Captured on Surveillance Photos

The photos were taken at approximately 12:18 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22.

The Newton Police Department has released surveillance photos of missing Boston College student Franco Garcia. The photos, which were taken at an ATM in Cleveland Circle, show Garcia walking by Citizens Bank around 12:18 a.m. on Wed., Feb. 22. The ATM is located at the intersection of Beacon Street and Chestnut Hill Avenue. Police said it appears Garcia was heading north on Chestnut Hill Avenue.  Garcia, 21, of West Newton, was last seen by friends around 12:15 a.m. on Feb. 22 at Mary Ann's bar in Cleveland Circle. According to Newton Police Lt. Fund Started for 'Find Franco' Search Efforts

Those looking to help can make donations online.

More than a week after he was reported missing, the friends and family of Boston College student Franco Garcia are not showing any signs of slowing down their search. The latest "Find Franco" effort looks to raise money for the Garcia family and the continued search efforts. Yesterday an online fund was started to collect donations and in less than 12 hours, the fund managed to gather more than $600 from 22 donors.  According to the online donation site, which is facilitated through WePay, the donations "hope to bring in extra resources to help aid the Garcia family and contribute to the continued search." Garcia, 21, has been missing since 12:15 a.m. on Wed., Feb. 22. He was last seen at Mary Ann's bar in Cleveland Circle, Brighton. …

Prayer Services, Candlelight Vigil Planned for Missing BC Student

Students and family members are praying for the return of 21-year-old Franco Garcia, who has been missing for more than a week.

It's been a week since friends and family have seen missing Boston College student Franco Garcia. He was last spotted at Mary Ann's bar in Cleveland Circle (Brighton) around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 22. Garcia, a West Newton resident, is described as a Hispanic male, 21, about 5'9" tall and 200 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue-and-white-striped button-down shirt, a North Face jacket, and glasses. Police Will Return to Reservoir Friday to Continue Search for Missing Student

Detectives also tried finding new information while canvassing Cleveland Circle bars Tuesday night.

As snow started to cover Greater Boston this afternoon, police decided to suspend their reservoir search for missing Boston College student Franco Garcia and resume operations on Friday. According to Newton Police Capt. Paul Anastasia, State Police dive crews were back at the Chestnut Hill Reservoir today with both divers and a side-sonar scanning device. This is the third day in a row a State Police dive team has searched the reservoir.  In addition, Special Emergency Response Team (SERT) troopers helped search some select areas around the reservoir. Dive Teams Finish Tuesday Search for Missing Student; Will Return Wednesday [UPDATED]

Dive crews searched the reservoir for approximately four hours Tuesday.

Updated 4 p.m. with additional information from State Police A Massachusetts State Police dive team has packed up for the day after searching the Chestnut Hill Reservoir for evidence of missing Boston College student Franco Garcia.   According to State Police Spokesman David Procopio, the State Police Underwater Recovery Unit did not find any significant evidence in a second straight day of searching.
