With the holiday season in full swing, some familiar faces stopped by the Golda Meir house earlier this week for the annual holiday party. Newton Mayor Setti Warren and State Rep. Kay Khan (D-Newton) greeted more than 90 residents at Golda Meir Wednesday night. The festive evening featured dinner followed by Klezmer music and dancing. Golda Meir, located in Auburndale, is a Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly (JCHE) community. Think you need to go all the way to New York or Los Angeles for a fashion show? Think again. The residents of Gold a Meir House -- subsidized independent senior housing in Auburndale -- held a fashion show Wednesday, with many of the models in their 80s and 90s. One model who hit the runway was 103, according to Susan Goodman, director of communications for Jewish Community Housing for the Elderly (JCHE). Fifteen models showed off their own style during the show while their neighbors clapped and cheered, Goodman said. Many of the clothes chosen for the event were garments saved away from special occasions, such as a granddaughter's wedding and an ornate outfit from China.
