The Massachusetts Fallen Heroes (MFH) foundation has recently put together a traveling, interactive memorial that will tour the state and educate communities about the Massachusetts men and women who have given the "ultimate sacrifice" while serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan. MFH selected Newton to be the first city in the state to host the memorial. A Thursday, Feb. 16 ceremony welcomed the memorial and included remarks from Dr. Midge Connolly, principal of Williams Elementary School. Connolly is the sister of Major David Connolly, a Newton native and Boston College graduate who was killed while serving in Afghanistan. The memorial will be on display in the main entrance rotunda at Newton City Hall for the next couple of weeks.
