Black Bear Sighted Near Newton/Needham Line
After being spotted Monday morning on the Newton/Needham line, it appears the bear has moved his way through Newton and toward Brookline.
Updated 9 p.m. According to scanner reports from local police, the black bear has been spotted near the Brookline/Newton line at Skyline Park. 3 p.m. In other wacky wildlife news, there have been reported Moose sightings in neighboring Wellesley. The moose was last spotted in the area of Parker Road and Brookmere Avenue, which is off Route 9 and roughy five and a half miles from the Newton line. 1:12 p.m. According to Reginald Zimmerman, a spokesman for the state's Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs, the bear seems to have left the Newton/Needham area where it was first spotted earlier this morning.
