More Details Released in Newton Police Egging Incident

Five officers were involved in egging the home of a Newton Police sergeant.

New details have recently surfaced about an incident involving five off-duty Newton Police officers who were caught egging a sergeant's home in Framingham.  Among those details is information that the sergeant loaded his gun before investigating the noise outside his home, according to a recent report in The Boston Globe.  The Globe report also reveals that the five off-duty officers who were involved with the egging incident were required to write letters explaining the actions to Interim Chief Howard Mintz. In the letters, the officers described the events around the Dec. 11 egging and apologized for the "prank." The department disciplined all five officers.
