UPDATED: Washington Street Walgreens Robbed by Knife Wielding Man
A man wearing a Patriots sweatshirt jumped over the counter and robbed the pharmacy.
[UPDATED Jan. 25] According to Your Town Newton, one of the Walgreens employees, a 67-year-old man, heard the robbery at the pharmacy counter and announced over the store loudspeaker that the store was being robbed, and to call 911. The employee then approached the suspect, who punched and kicked the employee before fleeing down Hovey Street, Your Town Newton reported. The employee was transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
